Heartland Embrace Inc. was birthed in 1999 out of a desire to help refugees from war torn countries repatriate into northern Wisconsin, the heartland of America.
The experiences and lessons learned through the successful repatriation of six refugee families into Wisconsin forged the core values of how Heartland Embrace Inc. serves its clients to this date.
On October 3, 2001 Heartland Embrace Inc. received it’s 501c3 Non-Profit status from the Internal Revenue Service. This status allowed us to expand our humanitarian efforts in more directions.
In 2005, Heartland Embrace Inc. expanded the services offered by assisting the migrant workers throughout the surrounding communities. We discovered that this marginalized segment of our society was exploited, few resources were available to them. Heartland Embrace Inc. offered translation, education and transportation services to medical, dental and legal services appointments.
In 2010, Heartland Embrace Inc. added financial consulting and Organizational Representative Payee services to its clients with the objective of helping the clients with the management of their own finances through personal budgeting, implementing policies & procedures and education to the degree the client is able.
In 2017, Heartland Embrace Inc. included legal guardianship services, with the objective of making life decisions that were in the best interest of the client, giving them the highest quality of life available in the least restrictive means possible.
In 2019, Heartland Embrace Inc. added mental health counseling to the list of services offered to its clients.
